IOSH Directing Safely

The IOSH Directing Safely course, sometimes called safety for senior executives is part of a suite of IOSH Training that is recommended for all organisations. Each syllabus is set relevant to the level within the organisation, whilst the content is firmly aligned to the business agenda of promoting high standards of health and safety.

The IOSH Directing Safely training course covers:

• The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007, a landmark in law. For the first time, companies and organisations can be found guilty of corporate manslaughter as a result of serious management failures resulting in a gross breach of a duty of care.
• The Health and Safety Executive's guidance. 'Successful Health and Safety Management' (HSG65)  
• The Turnbull report ('Internal controls: Guidance for Directors on the Combined Code') 
• The DETR/HEC's 'Revitalising Health and Safety' strategy statement.

A certificate is awarded to all those who attend the IOSH Directing Safely training course and successfully complete the written and practical assessments.
